SAT/ACT scores are not required. However, writing the CEMC Waterloo Math Contests (Euclid Mathematics Contest and Canadian Senior Mathematics Contest) is strongly recommended for Mathematics, CS, and Engineering candidates.

Waterloo receives over 60,000 applications. While broad arts and sciences are accessible, Software Engineering and Computer Science admit fewer than 5% of candidates, with median admitted grade averages exceeding 97-98% and outstanding Euclid math contest participation.

Mandatory for applicants whose primary language is not English and who have not completed four years in English-medium education.
